this page is supposed to collect all the sold out releases plus some lost gems like demo recordings, unreleased material and so on. the main objective is to let people listen to records that are already sold out, downloading them at a decent bitrate, and/or eventually get more interested in some bands. these files are not the original and actual records, except for the unreleased material, so this is not some kind of incitation to just download & listen, we urge you to try to find the records you're interested in, asking around, trading, buying.every time we'll get the approvation from the bands, we'll put here new material, that will obviously be downloadable for free. keep on checking because lots of amazing stuff will be posted.enjoy! |
A FLOWER KOLLAPSED
we've followed this band since sons of vesta born in 2004. they've been one of the first bands that joined our compilation and one of the first bands we putted up a show for, that's why we have this special friendship besides that we love their music! we've seen them growing during these years (and so they did with us) and becoming a real war-machine, both live and on record, and a band that really deserves attention, releasing four killer records filled with unstoppable, chaos-driven, noisy post-hardcore assault. but let's do a short jump back. before a flower kollapsed started, there was another band featuring three members of the actual formation, and that made the basis for the afk sound that we know. the band was called full grown, and here follows their demo from 2003; i have no idea of how many of these were made, but surely just a few, so..

ANCIENT SKY
the first time i heard of these dudes i was in bergamo with the catalyst, that were touring europe with kidcrash in 2008: their drummer, kevin, told me that his brother just started a new band (he was previously playing in majority rule), a band that he described like "weeeeeeird postrock stuff". fast forward of something like 6 months, i'm randomly zapping from a myspace page to another to listen new tunes, and i find these band with a vicious, psychedelic sound that captures me immediately. after checking the line up, i made 2+2 and the game was easy: after a few emails, we had the chance to get some copies of their first self-released "demo" cd, temporary. and has been love at first listen. we immediately proposed to release something for them, and the rest is history. what i'm proposing here is not that demo, since it's still available from them (and it's quite amazing, in my opinion!), but a live recording of a set in richmond, virginia. this sounds quite good, and the author (silver persinger - thanks!!) was into letting me put these tunes here, so here they are:

BRAMAGNOSEOLOGICA
this is pretty weird. the first time i got in touch with this band was through an old label/distro here in italy. i got their record from them, because i was really enthuxiast about all the italian emo/screamo scene from the nineties, and i was trying to gather every obscure demo, tape, 7" or whatever labelled as italian emo. so when i got this harsh recorded demo with this ugly xeroxed cover, i was totally blown. the band was already dead and gone since years (actually, about 6 years before) so i had to start my nerd quest to find who they were. i discovered that some of the guys was still around: the drummer was playing with rosolina mar, while the guitar player with the new born band afraid!, so after some weeks of research, this guy called francesco got in touch with me saying that he was pleased by my interest and that he would have sent me a better copy with coloured cover, lyrics and everything (my copy was actually a scam release). so i was informed by him that the cd-r was "released" in just 18 copies or something.. and i thought was a shame, so i proposed to him and my lovely labelmate to re-release that cd-r with a better packaging and in more copies. we involved also the original label who released it (even if he actually didn't do anything except getting some copies..) and francesco with his small label. so the cds were burnt and the artwork done, printed and glued. a simple paper bag with the same picture of the original one, revisited and with a better quality. approx. 100 copies were made by us. this band, featuring members of gilda, rosolina mar, afraid!, reminds me of mohinder, iconoclast, merel, with that unmistakeable italian touch that made it so special to us. i strongly recommend you to check all the other mentioned bands as they all were/are incredible.
in the meanwhile you can download here the bramagnoseologica ep, directly from 1998 to 2005 and 2009:

COTIDIE MORI
cotidie mori has been our band, and existed just for a couple of years. we played really few shows, had a very short tour through italy with a crust band from spain called blunt, and just only one show abroad. we recorded a bunch of songs for a 7"/cd/cassette that has been released by some friendly labels in the world. now the band dissolved with apparently no reason, some of the people involved weren't interested anymore and after a long time without playing nor having rehersal, we quitted. no last words, no goodbyes. we had a few songs that had to be recorded for a split with magdalene and that will never see the light. sad but true.
if anyone could ever been interested on this stuff, i'm posting here an outtake song from our unique recording session. this song haven't been mixed nor mastered so take it as it is. we discarded it because it was a little faster than we wanted it to be. the song was called progresso.
all the songs from our record are available here:
COTIDIE MORI - SELF TITLED 7"/CD/CASSETTE
thanks to everyone that have been interested and spent some precious time on this thing.

GODS & QUEENS
gods and queens is a band, they're from philadelphia, they don't like to describe their music, and i shouldn't even try since would be pretty impossible. i could lose hours drawing hyperboles about how they sound like unwound played by foo fighters or how they can be influenced by old nineties music rearranged for today's lazy and tired listeners or about how jamie's voice gives me the goosebumps every time. what i will say is that they are a punk band, that they are amazing people, and that i respect them as much i do with just a few other people (and who knows me also knows how true this is!).
me and andrea heard their first record, fell in love with it, decided to write an email to them to ask if would have been possible to release a record for them, and in about three weeks we had a full record that sounded amazing to us. that's why we decided to put it online for free, everyone has to download this gem and enjoy it as much as we do. the record is still available for a reasonable price, for all you amazing people that want to support the band and us. in any case, thanks for listening, it's appreciated. seriously.

KHERE
khere have been the other house hold name of sons of vesta. andrea's band was the most active and productive screamo punk band from arezzo, and the first screamo band ever from this town. they released a demo, a full lenght and two splits and took part at the marvellous emo apocalypse 12" released by react with protest. all their official releases have been done by sons of vesta, except for this compilation. actually, another full lenght was in the making, but their recently and unexpected quit made it fall behind to give priority to active bands. this doesn't means that will never be released, but simply that we don't know when.
here you will find other useful infos:

- S/T TOUR PROMO CD-R (2007) - ?? made. we made two different version of this. the first with xeroxed artwork, and the second in a watercoloured paper bag. both version were sold during the european tour in 2007. this cd was featuring the songs that were recorded for the upcoming split with her breath on glass.
- SPLIT CD/10" WITH HER BREATH ON GLASS (2007) - 500 copies made of each format, 100 copies of the 10" came on candy clear pink vinyl. released with ape must not kill ape records.
the unreleased album features 8 new songs recorded in summer 2008. these songs are more raw, intense and aggressive than the 10" split ones. recently, 4 more songs were made but never recorded. these were more into dirty punkrock than screamo. i will not post the full album, that's still waiting to be released. instead i will post their first demo songs plus an outtake took from the same recording session of the split 7" and the emo apocalypse song. in my opinion, this was a really good song, probably the darker and more angry they ever did, together with tempo. the song had no title, and it's still called nuova 1. here ya go!
last but not least, some trivia about the band:
- originally the band was called with the monicker lo-fi people shot down, and they eventually changed it because was too long. it was also terribly annoying indeed.
- the name was chosen because of
heidegger kehre, that meant to be a fast change of direction and a different relation between mind and body; due to a misspelling, the name mutated into khere.
- ex members of khere also plays/played in: la quiete, stolen bikes ride faster, carne, bystander effect.

MAGDALENE
one of the bands we're personally more bind is magdalene. these amazing guys (and friends) from pisa had their debut show in pisa at our first sons of vesta birthday party in 2005, with a slightly different formation and totally different sound; then their singer and keyboard player both left the band and a new guitarist was added, so the sound took a different shape pointing more toward postrock than screamo. a first 2-songs demo was roughly recorded in 2007 and several shows were played. here you can download their demo:
MAGDALENE - DEMO CD-R
after a few months they got back in the studio to record 4 heavier and longer songs for a minicd that has been released by several labels in italy and france in 2008. as this cd is already OOP, i'm posting it below, even if a repress on vinyl could be made soon. useless to say i suggest you to keep on checking this band, as they are one of the best hidden secrets in the italian indie/punk scene.

NAGASAKI NIGHTMARE
nagasaki nightmare is a dark-crustcore d-beat band from bari, italy. located in the southern italy, their city doesn't offer that much, so playing and being angry about unfair life and political matters are the only things that kept these guys alive. personally i think they are some of the best dudes in the world, for what they do, their focuses and the way they do things. the peak of their activity has been in 2006/2007 while most of them were taking care of the infermeria occupata squat, a beautiful oasis of peace in the industrial suburbs of bari. the band is not actually quitted, even if the members are now living really far eachother (hamburg, bologna, roma, bari), so we can say that they're in hiatus: the beast's sleeping waiting for a return.
putting friendship before everything, both their lps have been released by several friend's labels, and both are a split with bands that meant so much for them. the first one is with fastcore/crustpunkers contrasto, from cesena/forlì, italy, while the second is with the amazing blunt, dark d-beat from galicia, spain. both are currently OOP and will not be repressed. but if you're lucky enough, you can find some copies in some dusty distributions or mailorder. we eventually had a little restock with some lost copies so hurry up if interested.
during the recording session of the split with contrasto, a track has been cutted out. later on, this has been used for a benefit compilation: the song hasn't been mixed nor mastered, so it's just a rough recording. this song is called "come asfalto".
the other one is another song featured in a compilation, and it's a cover of "distruttore" by nerorgasmo, one of the most nihilistic and at the same time influent italian punk hardcore bands from the eighties. here the formation was slightly different, featuring just 2/4 of the actual band.

NEIL ON IMPRESSION
the first time i saw these guys live was in 2005, they played with funeral diner and i have to admit, i didn't pay attention to their set, since i was younger and totally galvanized about seeing funeral diner live for the first (and last) time. later on, one of them moved to florence and lived for a couple of years together with my labelmate, and a new friendship born. then, having the chance to see them live often, and hanging out together many times, i got more and more amused by this amazing band from forlì, their music was recalling me bands such tristeza, godspeed you! black emperor and many, many more, but all the influences were in some way lost in a beautiful and personal tangle of guitar and bass lines, all adorned by sophisticated layers of drums, brass, bows and electronics. in a word: goosebumps.
what many people don't know is that before "l'oceano delle onde che restano onde per sempre" and "the perfect tango" (their acclaimed and beautiful full lenghts), in 2003 they self released an amazing debut cd entitled " for a new grammar of feelings". this was a professionally pressed cd packed in a sweet handmade chipboard cover. eight songs for about 35 minutes, and here it is, unearthed after seven (SEVEN) years, from the very first formation and incarnation of the band:

PIZZA
when i saw a band with that name, i immediately thought:"oh shit, these guys will surely suck!". actually they didn't, and we ended releasing on vinyl the demo that mike benish kindly sent us. mike is one of the kindest dudes ever, and has been a pleasure to know him and have the chance to work with him, since his band rules. really: now i changed my mind, pizza is one of the best bands ever with one of the best names ever (WORD!), their music is dirty, grungy, noisy and out of tune punkrock that totally stolen our hearts. and yeah, they delivers. for sure they do. what i'm posting here is a live recording at couch heaven, kindly provided by silver persinger, that we all thank a lot.

THE RITUALS
there are moments in your life in which your musical taste drastically changes. bands, genres you were used to listen to daily, instantly start to sound boring, annoying or even disgusting, and you have to try something fresher, newer, and totally different. i've personally never been that much into punk rock music (which actually andrea loves), i always have been more into screamo/emo violence stuff, post-hardcore oriented metalheads band or sorta. later on i've focused more into grungy stuff, postpunk, postrock, new wave/dark music and eventually, some punkrock.
the rituals is a band that took me in the fabulous world of punkrock music, and i will never be thankful enough to these guys for this. their damn catchy melodies, the marvellous vocal lines.. one of the best bands ever, that's why we truly wanted to release their new full lenght. the previous one was a true blast, and we couldn't expect nothing but something incredible. as the previous records are both available, we wanted to put something rare and hard to find, so that's it, the raw, powerful, punk-to-the-bone and totally OOP demo by the rituals! this sounds totally different from what they actually sounds like now, but it was 2004, they were younger and their musical tastes were surely different than now :)

VIOLENTBREAKFAST
violentbreakfast was a screamo band from pisa, italy. they started as a four piece in 2003 and ended as a five piece in 2007. they took inspiration from early san diego bands like camera obscura, song of zarathustra, with a heavy use of acid keyboards to add a new wavish touch to the classic chaotic nineties screamo. they released lots of demos, collections, tour edition cd-r (all limited to very few copies), a split 7" with laghetto, a 4-way split cd with el eje del mal, shooting victor francis and socrates, a cd/12" full lenght and a split 10" with pyramids. after the band quitted, three out of five members went on to form a new band called chambers.
here follows some OOP and/or rare to find material:
VIOLENTBREAKFAST - DEMO CD-R
VIOLENTBREAKFAST/LAGHETTO - SPLIT 7"
during the recording session of their split with pyramids, they recorded two songs supposed to appear in a split and in a compilation 7". none of them has ever been released so here follows the tracks to be listened. one of these is an amazing bauhaus cover! in my opinion these were the best songs they ever written, so was a shame to leave them hidden in a drawer, so here they are to satiate your appetite:

VIOLENTBREAKFAST - SILENT HEDGES (UNRELEASED)
